Statement of Faith

Scriptures -

We believe in the plenary-verbal inspiration of the Word of God and that both the Old and New Testaments are inerrant in the original writings and are the supreme and final authority for faith and life.

Jesus Christ -

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.

Man -

We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners in thought, word and deed needing redemption.

The Church -

We believe that a New Testament church is a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word; its mission is to preach and teach the gospel to all people.

Godhead -

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit -

We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Godhead, convicts men of sin, regenerates, indwells, seals, and sets apart believers unto a holy life; that He keeps and empowers believers day by day; that He is the Teacher of the Word of God and the Guide for daily living.

Salvation -

We believe salvation is by grace through faith and is a free gift of God apart from works; salvation requires repentance, a turning from one’s own way to God’s way. Salvation comes through personal faith in the finished work of Christ; all who receive Him are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and become the children of God evidenced by a changed life.

The Future -

We believe in the personal, visible, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth; in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.

Accountability

Financial Responsibility

Hope and Help International is a nonprofit, Evangelical, Christian organization chartered by the State of Tennessee and tax exempt by the Internal Revenue Service under code section 501(c)(3). Hope and Help is committed to the fulfillment of the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. Contributions and resources are used to reach out in love to those who have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to the following standards:

  • We are governed by a responsible Board of Directors. The Hope and Help Board meets at least semi-annually to cast vision, establish policies, set budgets, oversee the organization’s financial practices, and review ministry progress.

  • We obtain an annual audit which is performed by an independent public accounting firm in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) with financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • We have a functioning audit review committee appointed by the Board, the majority of whom are not staff members or the relatives of staff members, for the purpose of reviewing the annual audit and reporting its findings to the Board.

  • We provide copies of our current audited financial statements upon written request. We seek to conduct our activities with the highest standards of integrity and avoid conflicts of interest. Our fundraising appeals clearly identify the purposes and programs to which donations will be applied, and we ensure that donations are used for the purposes for which they are raised.
