Kishor began his ministry in one of the many tea estates of West Bengal, India. The tea estates are set up so that those who work in the gardens live on the property. It was a “community of workers” where Kishore evangelized, planted a church and began a program of discipleship among the new believers.
Recently he felt the need to leave the tea estate church in the hands of those whom he had prepared and trained as church leaders and move into a village where the people were hungry for the Gospel. Just in the first 6 months of 2010, ten people from this village accepted Christ. Kishor reports a great response from the children of the village; as a result he regularly holds programs designed just for the children. He is encouraging the children to bring their unsaved friends to these programs. This has been a means of tremendous growth for his new church.
Sadly, the growing ministry that Kishor is involved in has not been without difficulties. He and his wife face much opposition from anti-Christian groups. He has been threatened many times and asked to leave the village. In spite of the threats, Kishor and his wife are faithful to minister to the people who want to hear the Gospel. They believe that God has given them a specific task and they are determined to stick with it.
Kishor just graduated from the Timothy Leadership Institute, a training ministry of Hope and Help International. He is putting his training into practice in this village church.
He and his wife are a precious young couple who work side by side in ministry. His wife is working as a nurse to support the family. They are expecting their first child in the spring of 2011.
